Last week, we gathered in the stunning landscapes of West Iceland for the second physical meeting of the LostToClimate Research Project. Hosted across Reykjavik, Hvanneyri, and Reykholt, the meeting brought together researchers from across the Nordics and North America to deepen our collaboration and advance our work on climate-induced relocation and loss.

Over four days, we:

🔹Explored the Grindavík eruption site and discussed relocation processes

🔹Discussed how to proceed with work package 1

🔹Shared case updates and aligned work packages

🔹Discussed ethical research practices and publication strategies

🔹Visited local farms and geothermal sites to connect with lived experiences of climate change

A big thank you to our hosts at Matthias Kokorsch (UW Iceland) and Johanna Gisladottir (Agricultural University of Iceland), and to all participants for the inspiring discussions and shared commitment to this important work. Looking forward to continuing the journey together!
